As Valentine's Day soon approaches, you may be looking for the perfect restaurant to try. Whether you're going out with hubby or making or hanging with your girls, I have listed some black-owned restaurants just for you. I broke the restaurants down in three categories breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The gem of Bronzeville, as some like to call it, is an Italian based restaurant located on 39th and Cottage Grove. I know you're asking why is this on the breakfast list? Truth recently added a breakfast/brunch menu, that the city can't get enough of. A few of the dishes are lobster and grits, bird n' batter (aka chicken and waffles) and a variety of omelets. Batter and Berries are strictly breakfast and brunch and are known for their world-famous french toast. There are currently five different varieties on the menu, but occasionally they add a new flavor. French toast is not the only thing on the menu that will have your mouth watering. Another Bronzville gem is peaches on 47th. They are known for their peach bourbon french toast. Doesn't that sound amazing? Another dish it everyone raves about is duck bacon shrimp and grits. This dish has awesome reviews. Here's their Instagram!
If you are looking for a cute little hideaway for the perfect lunch date, then this is the spot. Their lite, favorable dishes are delicious. Some dishes are burritos, salads, and wraps.
